Microneedling for acne scars and texture

Microneedling can be particularly useful for certain types of depressed acne scarring and uneven texture.

By encouraging collagen production within the skin, a course of treatments can gradually soften the appearance of scarring and improve overall smoothness.

It can also improve the appearance of enlarged pores by improving the quality and firmness of the surrounding skin.

How many treatments will I need?

You can absolutely book a single treatment for a skin refresh.

However, if we’re targeting concerns such as acne scarring, texture, pores or fine lines, a course of treatments will usually give a more noticeable result.

We’ll always recommend what actually suits your skin rather than automatically selling you a course.

What is the downtime with microneeding?

Your skin may look pink or red afterwards and can feel warm, tight or slightly sensitive.

For many clients this settles significantly within 24–48 hours, although every skin is different.

You’ll receive full aftercare following your appointment, including what products to use and what to avoid while your skin recovers.

And yes - SPF is non-negotiable.

Does microneedling hurt?

You may feel it, particularly in certain areas of the face, but most clients find the treatment manageable.

When will I see results?

You may notice a glow fairly quickly, but collagen takes time. Improvements in texture, firmness and scarring develop gradually over the following weeks.

Is it good for active acne?

Microneedling is generally better suited to acne scarring and texture rather than significant active, inflamed acne. We’ll assess your skin before treatment.

Will it completely remove acne scars?

No treatment should promise to completely erase scarring. The aim is to gradually improve its appearance and overall skin texture.
